An instructional video series to help retailers get their businesses online

eBay’s mission is to connect sellers and buyers around the globe. This mission became even more critical in the spring of 2020, when brick-and-mortar retailers were forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

To help eBay get as many retailers as possible online as quickly as they could, we worked against an aggressive timeline to create an instructional video series that educated them on the array of eBay-seller capabilities.

The Up & Running video series went beyond onboarding new sellers to the marketplace. We organized content to coach new sellers through the entire eBay seller journey, including tips on how to be successful on the platform.

Taking a substantial process and distilling it into a streamlined, step-by-step guide with a friendly and reassuring tone, we led with empathy to make a stressful time a little easier for retailers.

These instructional videos not only established eBay as an online alternative to traditional retail during a challenging moment, but enabled retailers to establish a sustainable digital presence in the long term.
