What Makes a Discouraged Employee?

In our recent Employee Connections Study, we explored the many drivers of employee connection at work, and learned a lot about how connections impact the employee experience. After analyzing results from the study’s 400-employee survey, we identified four distinct employee attitudinal segments. Each segment helps explain how people connect at work.
One segment—the Discouraged Employees—stood out as most in need of improvements to their employee experience. As you’ll see in the infographic below, they lack meaningful connections in the workplace. However, there remain opportunities to help these employees move from discouraged and disconnected to encouraged and engaged.
